Course Description

The Masterclass in Nutrition and Dietetics is designed with a combined integrative and preventive educational approach to nutrition, health and disease. The course has been structured into three levels to provide comprehensive knowledge that is required for the student to gain entry into the nutrition industry as a competent beginner level dietician.

The three levels of the course will cover various aspects of nutrition and dietetics as highlighted below

Level 1 – Basic nutrition
You will learn about

  1. 1. Major nutrients, their properties, functions and important food sources.
  2. 2. Mechanisms of digestion, absorption, and metabolism.
  3. 3. The scientific rationale for the development of dietary guidelines and nutrition policies in healthy individuals and populations.
  4. 4. Methods used to assess nutritional status.
  5. 5. Healthy diet and food choices, and how such choices will help prevent health problems.


Level 2 – Lifecycle and Wellness nutrition
You will learn about

  1. 1. Specific nutritional requirements for each stage of the life cycle.
  2. 2. Evaluation of dietary intakes and feeding programs for individuals throughout the life cycle.
  3. 3. How to help clients select a sports diet with the right balance of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, and fluids.
  4. 4. Steps of developing a healthful weight management program for individuals.
  5. 5. Managing people with eating disorders and body image issues.


Level 3 – Clinical Nutrition
You will learn about

  1. 1. Application of nutrition principles to disease prevention and treatment.
  2. 2. Medical terminology associated with nutrition-related diseases and conditions.
  3. 3. The role of diet in the development of chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, etc.
  4. 4. How to plan a therapeutic diet according to the individual or patients requirement in disease
  5. 5. Monitoring and evaluating nutrition therapy
  6. 6. Educating the patients and family regarding nutritional care to be followed for various conditions
  7. 7. Management of nutritional needs of serious and critically ill patients.


Course Path

All eligible candidates will start with Level 1. On successful completion of Level 1, you will gain a “Certificate in Nutrition and Dietetics”.

Those who have completed Level 1 can enrol into Level 2. On completion of Level 2, you will receive an “Advanced Certificate in Nutrition and Dietetics”.

After completing Level 2, you can enrol into Level 3. You will receive a “Fellowship in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics” on successful completion of Level 3.

Level – 1: Graduates from any discipline
Level – 2: Graduates from any discipline, who have completed Level 1
Level – 3 Graduates from Life sciences only, who have completed Level 2

She is a Registered Dietitian and Nutrition Faculty at Medvarsity. She is also a Member of Indian Dietetic Association, Member of Indian Society of Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition, Member of Nutrition Society of India. She has been associated with Apollo Hospital since 13 years. She is the Stroke Nutrition Coordinator for Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad. She was the Organizing Secretary for the 6th Apollo International Clinical Nutrition Conference 2013 at Apollo Health City Hyderabad.

    • Provisional degree certificate can be submitted with an undertaking to provide the degree certificate within the stipulated time.

  • What if I am unable to open the Medvarsity website?

  • My User ID and Password isn't working on the LMS.
