Course Description

Injuries are a significant public health problem worldwide. Globally, around 78.2 million get injured and 1.3 million people die in road traffic accidents each year. In India, over 150,785 persons die in traffic accidents annually. More than 1.2 million are injured seriously and about 300,000 are disabled permanently every year in India.

 The Masterclass in Trauma Management is designed for healthcare professionals who provide emergency care to trauma patients.  The objective of the course is to empower the doctors to provide effective care during the initial critical hours after injury and help reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with injury.  The topics and skills covered in the course will enable the doctor to identify life-threatening injuries and provide care in high-pressure emergency situations. The first level of the course will provide the essential life support skills required for saving patients after trauma. The second level of the course will cover management of specific injuries and complications associated with trauma.

Level 1 – Certificate in Trauma Life Support (CTLS) – 3 months
Level 2 – Advanced Certificate in Trauma Management (ACTM) – 3 months

Eligibility

Level 1- MBBS graduates, MBBS interns, nursing graduates
Level 2- MBBS graduates and MBBS interns

  • I am an MBBS/BAMS/BUMS/BHMS student. Will this course benefit me?
    • You will definitely benefit from this course. While doing your medical course, you will learn about ECG in physiology and under many internal medicine topics in your third and final year. ECG as a structured and detailed course is usually not covered in the medical curriculum at undergraduate level. However, it is an essential skill required when you begin practice. This course is a structured and detailed course on ECG interpretation that will make you knowledgeable and skilled in ECG analysis, which will greatly benefit when you start your internship/clinical practice.
  • What is the total duration of the course?
    • The total learning content is for about 20 hours, self-paced and you are given 3 months duration to complete it. However, if you spend enough time on the learning materials and clear the assessments, you can finish the course at a faster rate and get the certification.

  • What is the eligibility criteria for international students?
    • The eligibility criteria for the course for international students is similar. In case you have any queries regarding eligibility, our guidance counsellors will be able to provide more information on the same.
3. Course delivery
  • How to access the course material online?
    • After your enrolment is confirmed, you will be given login credentials to the Medvarsity Learning Portal.

  • What if I am unable to open the Medvarsity website?

4. Assessments
  • How will the assessments be for course?
    • All assessments will be based on online tests.
  • What if I am not able to clear the final test in each level in the first attempt?
    • You will be given three attempts to clear the tests. If you are not able to clear the final test for the Level in three attempts, you will have to pay re-activation fees. Contact Toll free (1800-103-6006) or write to us at bravo@medvarsity.com.
  • What if I feel that a question is wrongly framed or an answer is wrongly marked in the online exams?

5. Certificate

  • When will I get my certificate?
    • Once you successfully pass each Level, your E-Certificate will be generated in the Learning management system.
