Course Description
Max International Fellowship in Neurocritical Care Medicine is a super-specialist fellowship program in the sub-specialty of Neurocritical Care Medicine.
This course is being conducted by the Institute of Critical Care Medicine & Max Super Specialty Hospital, Saket, in collaboration with the Max Institute of Medical Excellence (MIME).
Fellows will receive training in various aspects of Neurocritical Care, including but not limited to Critical Care, Neuroradiology, Neuro-intervention, and Neurology. Fellows will also be exposed to General Critical Care and rotated in other ICUs during their fellowship period.
At the end of the course, the fellow should be able to handle complex critically ill patients of Neurology and other disciplines to prepare them to function in either an academic center or a community hospital environment.
Eligibility
- MBBS / Equivalent Foreign graduate qualifications – with a minimum of two years of experience in Critical Care Medicine
- MRCP/ Equivalent PG qualification with a minimum of one year of experience in Critical Care Medicine
- MD (Medicine/ Pulmonary Medicine/ Anesthesiology) with a minimum of one year of experience in Critical Care Medicine
- FNB/ DNB (Critical Care Medicine) from an NMC/MCI recognized Institute

Stipend: As per qualification & experience. International applicants will need NMC approval/ student visa.

Course validity: 13 months. There will be an extra charge for the extension of the course validity.

Dr. Neeraj Badjatia MD, MS, Professor (Neurology), Vice Chair (Department of Neurology), University of Maryland School of Medicine, USA Dr. Badjatia established the Section of Neurocritical Care in the Program in Trauma and is currently Professor and Academic Vice-Chair in the Department of Neurology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his Neurology Residency at Emory University and training in Neurocritical Care and Vascular Neurology at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Badjatia has been an active member and Fellow in the Neurocritical Care Society (FNCS), having served twice as the Board of Directors and Associate Editor for Neurocritical Care from 2009 to 2017. He is also an active member and Fellow in the American Neurological Association (FANA) and Society of Critical Care Medicine (FCCM). His research interests focus on targeted temperature management strategies, the impact of nutrition and metabolism on recovery after Sub-arachnoid Hemorrhage, and the development of clinical decision support tools in traumatic brain injury using continuous physiologic data. Funding sources for this work include the National Institute of Health, Department of Defense, and the Neurocritical Care Society.
