Accredited CPD Activity

Continuing professional development (CPD) is the intentional maintenance and development of the knowledge and skills needed to perform in a professional context. This could mean honing current skills, it could mean developing them to a new level, or it could mean learning new ones that will allow an employee’s job role to expand or prepare them for potential promotion.

CPD obligations are present in most professions. Most companies and organizations now prioritize them because they ensure a constantly developing workforce.

This means there are millions of professionals across the UK who are required to undertake CPD training every year.

Structured CPD gives employees a clear path to success within their current role and progression to future ones. Employees in regulated industries (e.g. healthcare, accountancy, legal work) can lose their license to operate if they don’t maintain their CPD.

RSSDI

TRSSDI was founded in 1972 by Prof. M.M.S. Ahuja who conceived the idea of establishing the society for ensuring academic activity and research and holding scientific meetings and providing training facilities for research.
It was registered on July 29, 1972; the Society’s office was located in the department of Medicine at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). From a small beginning in 1972, RSSDI has grown to be a truly national organisation.
The aim of RSSDI is to conduct and facilitate diabetes research in India, which has a direct bearing on diabetes clinical practice and the prevention and management of the condition.

Royal College of Radiologists

Physicians who are trained in clinical oncology and clinical radiography are led, educated and supported by the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR). There will be a large number of radiologists who will specialise, becoming experts in areas such as musculoskeletal and gastrointestinal imaging. Also known as “generalists”, these radiologists do all forms of hospital imaging, as well as some interventional procedures.

British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS)

Royal College of Anaesthetists

The Royal College of Anaesthetists is the professional body responsible for the speciality of anaesthesia throughout the United Kingdom. It sets standards in anaesthesia, critical care, pain management, and for the training of anaesthetists, physicians’ assistants, and practising critical care physicians.

British Association of Dermatologists

The British Association of Dermatologists is a charity established in 1920 whose charitable objects are the practice, teaching, training, and research of dermatology. It produces the British Journal of Dermatology, a monthly peer-reviewed medical journal and organises annual conferences.

The BAD has clear objectives which are set out in the Constitution and are taken forward by the business units and sub-committees.

The BAD works with many other organisations to achieve its aims of supporting patients and improving standards. These include Patient Support Groups, Special Interest Groups, International Dermatology Groups, and the Medical Royal Colleges.

Critical Care Education Foundation was set up as a felt need, by practitioners of intensive care, for a platform to provide high-quality practical training to doctors and nurses in developing countries in general and India in specific. It works closely with the Intensivists from the prestigious Princess Alexandra Hospital and the Mater Hospital, Brisbane, Australia to provide international level training in Data Interpretation at the annual Indo-Australian Critical Care Training Programs.

Royal Liverpool Academy

The Royal Liverpool Academy is the education wing and center of the Royal Liverpool & Broadgreen University Hospitals Trust. It is one of the largest University Teaching Hospitals in the UK and has one of the largest Emergency Department and throughput. Established in 1992, The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) is the professional organization for Chief Information Officers and other senior healthcare IT leaders. ATI Nursing Education

Assessment Technologies Institute known as ATI Nursing Education was founded in 1998 provided an online platform for nurses to continue their education. Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anesthetics

Established on 2nd April, the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anesthetists, possesses significant responsibility and authority with regard to patients and those working and training in the field of Pain Medicine. The Faculty works through its secretariat and the function of its Board and two sub-committees; the Professional Standards Committee (FPMPSC) and the Training and Assessment Committee (FPMTAC).

In addition to this, short team working groups are appointed to look at the specific issues. Through their guidance and pain medicine training, they promote the state-of-the-art of practice for patients. They also serve their Fellows, Members and aspiring Fellows. Their Fellows and Members come from a range of backgrounds, from established consultants to newer consultants, as well as non-consultant doctors working in pain medicine and trainees and educators.

The British Pain Society (BPS) founded in 1967, is a largest multidisciplinary organization working in the fields of Pain in the UK. It’s a community that brings together a varied group of nurses, clinicians, scientists, physiotherapists, general practitioners, psychologists, patients and other healthcare professionals to enhance their knowledge related to pain and implement latest public policies and clinical practices to alleviate the suffering from pain. Institute of Physics and Engineering in Science

Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine(IPEM) is a charity with more than 4,600 members from healthcare, academia, and industry. They are the professional organization that represents this workforce. Some of their members support ensuring that patients are accurately diagnosed and safely treated for various illnesses such as cancer and stroke through their work on imaging and radiotherapy. Some members are responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing medical equipment such as MRI and ultrasound scanners, X-ray machines, drug delivery systems, and patient monitors.

e-Learning for Healthcare

Formed in April 2007, e-Learning for Healthcare delivered a successful pilot with the Radiology-Integrated Training Initiative (R-ITI) which generated a model for the future delivery of generic and professional healthcare training. They are now all set to deliver a range of programs. To develop e-learning programs to help the healthcare workforce, e-LfH transitioned across to Health Education England. They are in the process of delivering 400+ e-learning programs in collaboration with organizations like Royal Colleges, Department of Health and Social Care, NHS England, and NHS Improvement and Public Health England.

SIMTICS

Simtics, Ltd. (formerly Go Virtual Medical Ltd.), a New Zealand based software firm was formed in 2003 by a group of surgeons, physicians and animators. The company has developed the SIMTICS Integrated Cognitive Simulators for learning medical and clinical procedures in virtual reality on a PC with an internet connection. It features text, anatomy, video and simulation in one package-synchronized by dynamic timeline.
