Course Description
Globally, about 1 million individuals acquire sexually-transmitted infections every day. In addition to this, one in four couples are now diagnosed with infertility in developing countries. In India, poor sexual and reproductive health exists across all the socio-economic groups in both urban and rural areas. Surveys have indicated that around 18.3% of the population showed symptoms of reproductive tract infections/sexually transmitted infections. The Certificate Course in Reproductive Health will equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge of reproductive health issues in different contexts. The course includes evidence-based information related to male and female sexual health, sexually-transmitted infections, and contraception.
Negligence of sexual and reproductive health in acute and chronic situations can lead to potentially serious consequences. This course will help the primary care physicians and other healthcare professionals to understand various reproductive health issues, mitigate the risks, and reduce the morbidity and mortality related to them.
