Course Description

The health of women often remains unrecognized and underdiagnosed by many healthcare professionals, particularly AYUSH Practitioners, who often are underprepared to address the myriad of conditions seen among women.

The Basics of Gynecology and Obstetrics is a course designed to narrow this knowledge gap providing more balanced coverage, addressing the “navel-to-knees” issues of women’s health. A concise self-paced program consisting of multiple case presentations, lectures, and interactive elements that gives you a clinical perspective to theory and consequently improve the clinical outcomes of your patients.

On successful completion, you will be able to manage the many intrinsic and complex issues related to women’s health, namely:

  • Educating and counseling women on Contraception
  • Pre Conceptional & Prenatal Care
  • Nutritional perturbations during pregnancy
  • Menstrual disorders – amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, etc.
  • Pelvic examinations to evaluate pain, bleeding, and vaginal discharge
  • Normal & abnormal labor: mechanisms for its control
  • Mechanical methods for induction of labor
