Join our family medicine program for an enriching and immersive exploration of primary care delivery in the United States. Led by experienced preceptors, this hands-on experience promises to unveil the intricacies of the US healthcare system. You'll be immersed in a dynamic and bustling environment where your contributions are integral to the learning process. Our dedicated preceptors are passionate educators, providing ample opportunities for practical learning under their expert guidance.

As you aspire to become a primary care physician in the US, this rotation offers a firsthand encounter with the multifaceted nature of primary care management. Throughout the program, you'll gain invaluable insights into essential processes such as patient referrals, insurance and billing procedures, scheduling logistics, and the operational aspects of running a medical practice. This exposure will help you develop a sense of comfort and readiness, aligning with the expectations of residency program directors and showcasing your preparedness to hit the ground running from day one.

Our preceptors, having navigated the challenging journey of training as International Medical graduates in the US themselves, are well-equipped to steer you toward competitiveness as you embark on your residency application journey. Their guidance ensures that you not only acquire clinical proficiency but also navigate the intricacies of the US medical landscape with confidence and competence.

The program includes a comprehensive 4-week rotation at an Urgent Care facility situated in Vienna, VA, which is affiliated with Fairfax Oaks Hospital. Under the mentorship of Dr Chienku, who serves as both Medical Director and Physician, participants will engage in face-to-face interactions with patients, take medical histories, perform mini examinations, and learn to work with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
