Overview
This masterclass is designed to strengthen your practical competency in robotic colorectal surgery through immersive hospital-based operative training. You gain exposure to Da Vinci robotic system setup, console ergonomics, docking workflows, port placement strategies, camera control, energy device handling, and bedside coordination under expert supervision within active robotic surgical environments. The curriculum provides guided exposure to colorectal outpatient evaluation, rectal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) interpretation, tumour staging, multidisciplinary team planning, and evidence-based surgical decision-making aligned with colorectal oncology practice.
The program further introduces the full spectrum of robotic colorectal procedures, from segmental resections and total mesorectal excision to complex pelvic surgery and oncologic reconstruction, alongside ERAS pathways.
Through live robotic procedures and workflow-based learning, practitioners strengthen robotic dexterity, embryological plane dissection, nerve-preserving pelvic dissection, intracorporeal reconstruction principles, peri-operative optimisation, and complication recognition. Guided operative participation and real-case discussions help build greater confidence in managing complex pelvic surgery, colorectal oncology workflows, stoma care, and minimally invasive colorectal procedures in high-volume surgical settings.
About the Program
This masterclass is designed to strengthen practical proficiency in robotic colorectal surgery through guided participation in complex colorectal and pelvic procedures. Practitioners develop greater confidence in robotic coordination, precision dissection, intracorporeal reconstruction, oncologic surgical planning, and peri-operative colorectal management through immersive real-case learning. The program also enhances clinical judgment in challenging operative scenarios, helping practitioners integrate advanced robotic techniques into contemporary colorectal surgical practice.
Note: Clinical exposure, procedural participation, and case mix may vary across training locations based on patient availability, institutional protocols, faculty expertise, and operational considerations.
