Biography

Professor Raina MacIntyre is a globally recognized epidemiologist, physician, and Professor of Global Biosecurity at the UNSW Sydney and Head of the Biosecurity Program at the Kirby Institute. Her expertise spans infectious diseases, vaccinology, pandemic preparedness, biosecurity, and emerging epidemic threats. She has authored hundreds of scientific publications and has served on multiple expert advisory groups for the World Health Organization, particularly in vaccine policy and pandemic response. Professor MacIntyre is internationally recognized for her contributions to public health research, outbreak investigation, and global biosecurity, and has received several prestigious honors, including the Eureka Prize for Leadership in Science and Innovation.
